Joe Lupo receiving the ”Excellence in Training Award” |
|
Would like to start by congratulating Joe Lupo for receiving the “Excellence in Training Award” for the past year. Joe has done a very good job in promoting the GWRRA Horizon Program and has put on seven 1 day programs. He didn’t stop there, he has also done several of the GWRRA approved seminars for the members. The District of Ohio should be proud of him for giving them this chance to learn more about GWRRA and life in general.
Talking about seminars, we had 4 very well attended. We took 3 from the “Life Skills” program and 1 from the “Intermediate Leadership Skills” program. These were presented by Joe Lupo- Ohio District Trainer, Susan Jennings- Indiana District Trainer, & myself. Thanks to both Joe & Susan for lending their expertise.
As you may or may not know GWRRA has a wealth of seminars for you the member. For that matter there are 46 with more in the works. With these seminars there is a small tri-fold card with all of them on there and you can get them from your District Trainer or at |

any Rally. The thing you need to do after acquiring one, you take it with you to one of these seminars and have the seminar instructor initial & date it. When you have attended 8 of them in a category you then take to your District Trainer for a hanger bar for your Leadership Training Pin (which you need to purchase). |

“Before following a leader it is wise to see if he is headed in the right direction.” |

I know sometimes the title “Leadership Training” sounds like something is more of a job than something you would enjoy doing, but in the case of the GWRRA seminars that is not the true. Attendees have a good time and can also get a lot of those pressing questions answered. Also in the past it was believed that these seminars & the Horizon program was for just the officers. NOT TRUE, they are for all members. So at the next rally look at the rally schedule for when and where these seminars are. If you have a special subject that you would like to learn more about, let your District Trainer know and we’ll get up a seminar especially for that subject.
Matter of fact the LTD Division of GWRRA is looking for and trying to develop seminars just for want you the member would like to have. And I say again, let us know and we’ll go for it.
