We would like to say “THANKS” to each and every person that attended the Region D Rally this year. As you know, our numbers were down, but we that were there had a really good time. New, this year was the chainsaw carver, who was exciting to watch as well as the Indianapolis Shrine Division Drill Team. These guys put on a great display of motorcycle maneuverability between our Grand Parade and our Light Parade. Those that were there were quite impressed. Also, our campers really enjoyed camping in the Swine barns as we had some nasty rain on Thursday afternoon. Many of them said that they were able to meet many new friends there.
Not only was the count down at the Region Rally, but it was down at all the District Rallies. We are hoping that the coming year will be better for everyone and maybe more will be able to attend next summer.
We would like to thank each of you that took the time to complete the survey that was in your packet at the Region Rally. We have looked over these two or three times and will be looking at them again real soon. There were a lot of things to consider, some that we have control over and many that we do not. We really appreciate your thoughts and hopefully we can give you what you want at the rallies. Thanks Again!!!
During the winter months, (yes I said winter) that will be here tooooo soon, will be at the International bike shows. Please, watch your local newsletters for times and locations, as these are great recruiting events. If you have a few hours to spare and like to meet new people, maybe you can volunteer to work at one of the events. Also, please take the time to contact any members from your chapters that have not been attending lately and let them know that you do miss them. We not only want to recruit new members, but we want to keep those that we already have.
The winter (there’s that word again) rallies will soon be here, so please plan to attend and support your District. Your District Directors as well as the District Staff work many long hours to make these events “FUN” and eventful for you and they do need your attendance. This is a great time just to relax and enjoy visiting with everyone before the riding season gets in full swing. We hope to see you there!!!!
As you know, Wing Ding will be in Billings, Montana again this coming year. This is a beautiful city as well as all the sites to see along the way. If you plan to attend, please register early and get your motel room reserved.
We would like for each of you to remember some of our staff members that are still under the weather. Deb Caldwell has been sick since the first part of August and is back in the hospital again. Carolyn Miller fell when leaving Kroger’s and crushed her shoulder, she will be undergoing surgery in a few days. Brad Meadows (former Indiana District Educator) just went thru surgery and is doing well at the time. Steve and Sally Stillwell also on the Indiana District Staff have undergone some surgeries and are back on the mend. Please send them a card if you get a chance and let them know that you are thinking about them.
Again, please ride safely and we look forward to seeing each of you somewhere soon!! We had the opportunity to meet many new members at the Region Rally and are hoping to see them again at one or more of the winter (Oops, said it again) rallies.
